No Favourites with God

Romans 2:11 reminds us: “For God does not show favoritism.” This truth runs throughout Scripture; our God is completely just and impartial.

In the Old Testament, we see it declared clearly: “The Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords… who shows no partiality” (Deuteronomy 10:17). And in the New Testament, Peter testified after seeing the Spirit move among the Gentiles: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears Him and does what is right” (Acts 10:34–35).

For us, this means two things:

  1. Security in Christ – God’s love and grace are not based on status, wealth, nationality, or popularity. His mercy is extended equally to all who believe.

  2. A Call to Reflect Him – James 2:1 warns us not to show favoritism in how we treat people. If God welcomes all, we too must honor, value, and love others without bias.

God’s impartiality should bring us comfort; He sees us, He loves us, and He measures us by the sincerity of our faith, not by the labels the world gives.

Today, let’s walk in that truth: secure in His unbiased love, and committed to showing that same love to others.
